Purpose of MAT Course
The MAT course certifies child care providers to administer medication in a child care setting using
seven routes: oral, topical, inhaled, medicated patches, eye, ear and emergency injection of
epinephrine using an auto-injector device.

About the Instructor
Sharon L. Nowery, is a certified MAT instructor. Sharon is an owner of HealthStaff, Inc. in Richmond,
and has been an RN for over 30 years, with a variety of clinical, educational and administrative
experience.

Course Requirements
To attend the MAT course a child care provider must have current certification in first aid and CPR.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Training may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment and all money refunded or applied to another
training session if desired.  Registration must be received three days prior to training.  No refunds
with less than a 72 hour notice cancellation.  However, SUBSTITUTE STAFF PERMITTED.

Cost
The cost for the one-day, eight-hour training is $100 per participant.  There are weekly courses
